(decorating for the holidays with naturals)
I love decorating with natural elements, keep things sweet and simple, so it feels cozy and celebrated. Whenever I peek through European/Danish decor I tend to oooo and ahhhh, but I love so much how they are able to accomplish such a lovely feeling with just a few sweet things. From fresh greenery and vibrant fruits to warm spices and rustic pine cones. You don’t have to spend a lot of money or time either. Sometimes the best ideas are also the simplest ideas.
We purchased our tree and some of our garland from our local nursery, Pike Nurseries. We have in the past gone to cut down our tree, but for us in Georgia those tree farms are a good few hours away. So every year is a little different on what we are able to do. I do typically forage a lot and put together all our wreaths on grapevine. I love drying citrus, and add some ribbon and bells throughout for final touches. Things I’ve collected over time, and love pulling out each year.
When it comes to decorating for the holidays, less is more. Nature is already elegant, so there is no need to overdress her. I typically just combine a few elements with small touches here and there.
Natural, cozy, and truly doesn’t have to break the bank. Holiday decorating doesn’t have to be overwhelming or daunting or expensive- it’s supposed to be an excuse to take a moment and celebrate the season with the ones you love.
